Pchum Ben

Roughly the Cambodian version of All Saint's Day. A time when most Cambodians travel to the provinces to pay their respects to deceased relatives. Locals cook meals for monks, bring offerings to the temple and throw rice near the temple early in the morning, believing that their anscectors will receive it.

The accord of Paris signed in 1991, meant the transition of power from the United Nations back to the country on 1993.
