Wat Sisaket is Vientiane's oldest surviving monastery. It was built by Anouvong King in 1818. It contains 6840 Buddha images and store any bibles publishing in 18th century. Its Ho Trai is renowned for its representative as an emblem at the 1970 Expo Osaka in Japan. Ho prakeo was built in 1565 by Setthairat King to house the Emerald buddha for this personal place of worship. So, different from other temples, there were never any monks livings there. That Luang Shrine ( great Sacred Stupa ) is the most important Laotian religious and national monument in Vientiane. It was built in the 16th century under King Setthathirat. That Luang was constructed to gather Lao people all over the country and became the cultural center since 1566 . Patuxai is located in the center of Vientiane. This victory Gate, also known as Anousavali was constructed in 1958, This area attract those who wish to relax with friends. Here, energetic visitors can climb to the top of the monument for a view of the City.
